Abstract

As the Speaking Quran and one of the greatest teachers of Islamic education, Imam Sadiq (AS) has presented a comprehensive and unparalleled model in the field of social, moral, and scientific education that is rooted in the original teachings of the Quran. The present study, with a content and comparative analysis approach, explores the specific and innovative dimensions of the educational teachings of Imam Sadiq (AS) in the light of the Divine Word. The main question of the research is whether the specific and innovative components of the educational teachings of Imam Sadiq (AS) are in line with the Holy Quran and have distinctive innovations? In this regard, by examining the narrations and practical life of Imam Sadiq (AS) and comparing them with the verses of the Holy Quran, the three main axes of social education (such as educating the elite and managing social interactions), moral education (such as emphasizing good character and awakening conscience), and scientific education (such as promoting critical thinking and cultivating talents) have been analyzed. The research findings show that the educational teachings of Imam Sadiq (AS) are in line with the Holy Quran and at the same time, they have innovations that distinguish it from other educational schools and are capable of responding to the educational needs of contemporary societies. This article provides a conceptual model of the educational system of Imam Sadiq (AS), and paves the way for new research in the field of Islamic education.
