Abstract
This study, using a descriptive–analytical method and relying on library research, examines and substantiates the concept of the “testimony of bodily limbs and organs” on the Day of Resurrection, with a particular emphasis on its educational role in preventing sin. In addition to introducing the witnesses of the Day of Judgment, the present research explains the doctrinal and ethical consequences of this belief in strengthening the foundations of faith and individual piety in worldly life. Although the Almighty God constantly oversees human thoughts and actions, He has appointed multiple witnesses for the purpose of completing the proof (itmām al‑ḥujjah), so that no pretext or avenue for denial remains. Within this framework, a person’s limbs and organs will testify against him on the Day of Resurrection. This testimony takes two forms: verbal testimony, in which the organs, by God’s permission, speak and confess to the deeds committed; and situational testimony, in which the organs, through their state and condition, implicitly bear witness to their worldly actions. The witnesses of the Hereafter are divided into two categories: those who testify with knowledge and awareness and possess the right of intercession, and those who merely serve as witnesses and lack any right to intercede. Drawing on religious teachings (such as Imam al‑Sajjād’s Treatise on Rights) and rational–textual proofs, the study demonstrates that observing the rights of bodily limbs and organs in this world paves the way for their positive role in the Hereafter, and that understanding this mechanism on the Day of Reckoning plays a pivotal role in religious education and in deterring individuals from sin.
