Abstract
Paying attention to Qur’anic education is essential; however, it requires comprehensive and innovative research within religious sources. This study conducts a comparative examination of the views of Martyr Murtaza Mutahhari and Sayyid Qutb on Qur’anic education and seeks to answer the question: what are the points of convergence and divergence in the perspectives of these two thinkers? The research employs a qualitative, descriptive–analytical–inferential method based on documentary study and a comparative approach, through which the commonalities and differences of their opinions in various domains of Qur’anic education are extracted. The findings indicate that both thinkers, in their discussions on anthropology, acknowledge the different dimensions of human existence (physical, rational, and spiritual) and emphasize their development, offering programs for their cultivation. Nevertheless, Mutahhari considers the Perfect Human to be the Prophet (PBUH) and the Imams (AS), whereas Qutb believes that, through proper education, it is possible to elevate the status of the human being. Overall, although the two scholars hold relatively similar views, Mutahhari’s perspective is broader and more comprehensive due to his use of philosophy and other intellectual sources.
